APPROVAL OF MINUTES Motion to approve the Appeals Standing Committee Minutes of: ➢ February 7, 2023 Carried. 2. APPROVAL OF THE AGENDA Motion to approve the June 13, 2023 Appeals Standing Committee Agenda as presented. Carried. 3. Dangerous and Unsightly Properties —Notices of Intent to Demolish: a) File#12192; PID #15438443 —38 Second Street, Glace Bay, District 10 Motion that a Thirty Day Order to Demolish be issued for the building located at 38 Second Street, Glace Bay, District 10, PID 415438443. Carried. ADJOURNMENT Appeals Standing Committee Minutes June 13, 2023 Approved October 24, 2023 Page 3 of 4 Land Acknowledgement Roll Call Mayor McDougall-Merrill welcomed Kelly McDonald to the Council Chambers as the newest member of the Clerk's Department team. 1. APPROVAL OF MINUTES Motion: Moved by Councillor Green, seconded by Councillor O'Quinn, approval of the Appeals Standing Committee Minutes of: February 7, 2023 Motion Carried. 2. APPROVAL OF THE AGENDA Motion: Moved by Deputy Mayor Edwards, seconded by Councillor Bruckschwaiger, to approve the June 23, 2023 Appeals Standing Committee Agenda as presented. Motion Carried. 3. Dangerous and Unsightly Properties —Notices of Intent to Demolish: a) File#12192; PID #15438443 —38 Second Street, Glace Bay, District 10 The Director of Planning and Development reviewed the staff Memo included in the agenda package advising that the building is unsound and unsafe. Staff recommends that a Thirty Day Order to Demolish be issued. Motion: Moved by Councillor Bruckschwaiger, seconded by Councillor Tracey, that a Thirty Day Order to Demolish be issued for the building located at 38 Second Street, Glace Bay, District 10, PID #15438443. Motion Carried. Councillor Green spoke regarding concern for dangerous and unsightly properties and suggested that the Province be contacted to consider a review of the MGA regarding additional authority for municipalities to follow through more quickly on enforcement regarding removing derelict buildings.
