Holidays - Managerial and Confidential Employees
1.00 The following paid days off are recognized for managerial and confidential
employees:
New Years Day
Good Friday
Easter Monday
Victoria Day
Canada Day
Davis Day
Labour Day
Thanksgiving Day
Remembrance Day
Christmas Day
Boxing Day
Any other day proclaimed by the Municipal, Provincial or Federal Government.
2.00 Eligibility
2.01 All regular full time and part time employees are eligible to receive holiday pay at
their regular rate, provided they have worked their regular work day prior to or
immediately following the holiday, or are on an approved paid leave of absence.
Eligible employees are granted time off at their regular rate of pay. Holiday pay is
pro rated for part time employees.
2.02 Temporary or casual employees are eligible to receive holiday pay for general
holidays in accordance with the Labour Standards Code and Regulations. The
general holidays are:
Christmas Day
New Year's Day
Good Friday
Labour Day
Canada Day

3.00 Illness During Holidays
Employees who are utilizing sick leave credits during a period when a statutory
holiday falls, are eligible to receive statutory holiday pay instead of sick leave credits
for that day.
4.00 Holidays Worked
An employee who is required to work on a holiday will be granted an alternative day
off at a date mutually agreed upon by the employee and their supervisor.
4.00 Collective Agreements
Designated holidays and holiday pay for employees who are members of a
bargaining unit will be in accordance with the appropriate collective agreement.
